Teledyne's TO-5 magnetic latching 722 relay has become one of the industry standards for low level switching from dry circuit to 1 Amp. Designed for use when close PCB spacing is required, the TO-5 hermetically sealed 722 series has low coil power dissipation in an ultra-miniature relay package.
The relay can be operated with a short duration pulse and once the DPDT latching contacts have transferred, no coil power is required. The magnetic latching feature of the 722 relay provides a non-volatile memory capability, the relay will not reset upon removal of coil power.
With a low inter-contact capacitance and contact circuit losses, the 722 series of TO-5 relay is an excellent ultra-miniature RF switch for frequencies well into the UHF spectrum (see datasheet for performance curves).
A typical RF application for the TO-5 relay is in hand held radio transceivers, the combined features of good RF performance, small size, low coil power dissipation and high reliability make it a preferred method of Transmit/Receive switching.
Hermetically sealed
High resistance to shock and vibration
Gold plated contacts
Low insertion loss - isolation and intercontact capacitance of 0.4pF
Uni-frame design provides high magnetic efficiency and mechanical rigidity
High reliability and excellent resistance to environmental extremes
Low profile height of 7.11mm makes it ideal for use when close PCB spacing is required
